Arctic Passion At The Arctic Circle Assembly 2025

The Arctic PASSION project will be present at the Arctic Circle 2025 Assembly, at the Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre in Reykjavik, Iceland next week from 16th to 18th October. Arctic PASSION will host or participate in several sessions and events and we hope that you will join us.
Thursday October 16th:
- 09:40 - 10:35 Changing Arctic Systems: Scientific insights and sustainable solutions. Maria Grigoratou, The European Polar Board (EPB)'s Executive Secretary speaking.
There will also be an opportunity for speed networking with the EU Polar Cluster from 20:15 -21:10.
Friday October 17th
- 08:30 - 09:25 Supporting Arctic Communities: Addressing wildfire and air quality concerns. Speakers include Pavel Tkach, University of Lapland Researcher; Vito Vitale, the Italian NAtional Research Council's Research Director; Ilaria Crotti, the EU Joint Research Centre (JRC)'s Scientific Project Officer; Mikko Strahlendorff, the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI)'s Space Advisor, and moderated by Srdjan Dobricic, Scenior Scientist at the EU Joint Research Centre.
- 10:50 - 12:30 PLENARY, The Arctic Circle Polar Dialogue session III. Indigenous Knowledge in Arctic research. Malene Simon Hegelund, Senior Scientist at the Greenland Climate Research Centre and special guests Qillaq Danielsen, a hunter from Qaanaaq and Olennguaq Kristensen, a hunter from Savissivik (Greenland) on the panel.
SIOS Svalbard is simultaneously hosting a meeting from 08:30 - 17:00 on Friday at Akademían Fundarsalir (Hafnarstræti 5, 101 Reykjavík - 8 minutes walk from the Harpa Center) with the following agenda:
