Collaborating With Local Hunters In Qaanaaq, Greenland

The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) and Greenland Institute of Natural Resources (GINR) are collaborating with local hunters in Qaanaaq, Greenland on Community-Based Monitoring for Arctic marine climate change, noise pollution & impacts on marine living resources. Listen to three interviews from Arctic PASSION's last fieldwork in April 2023. 

In attendance are three hunters from Qaanaaq: Qillaq Danielsen, Gustav Simigaq and Quma Kvist;  an oceanographer from the Danish Meteorological Institute, Steffen M. Olsen and senior scientist Malene Simon Hegelund and program coordinator Carl Isaksen from the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources. The photographer is Christian Sølbeck from the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources.
